The 4 Domains (Colors!) of Strengths

Whether you've taken the Gallup Strengths Assessment or are about to- you may have noticed that the Strengths come in colors!

These colors are not random- they are intentional.

When you receive your Top 5 Strengths, the color that your Strengths display with tell you which Domain they belong to.

What is a "Domain"?

A "Domain" is a collection of Strengths- organized by how those Strengths help teams & others succeed. 

Of course, each Strengths IS unique! The 4 Domains that Gallup & Dr. Clifton have identified help folks understand the main lens in which how people with these Strengths operate out of. 

Let's go through each one!

 Executing Domain  - Purple

9 Strengths live in the Executing Domain! These Strengths are action-oriented: the "Let's get stuff done!" friends, family, and co-workers. They have a natural ability and drive to tangibly DO something. It could be: solving a problem, literally getting something done, or being able to narrow their time & energy towards one thing. These are just a few examples of how "Executing" Strengths may show up!

They have a natural ability to influence others and make an impact in the spaces & teams they are on. It could be: a strong public speaker, storyteller, or someone who can easily get others motivated. These are just a few examples of how "Influencing" Strengths may show up!

These are the friends, family members, and co-workers who show deep care and are considerate of others around them. They thrive when they can be connected with others.  It could be: how someone remembers special dates & names, to how another person may be able to understand how others are feeling, to aligning a group to find a common ground. These are just a few examples of how "Relationship-Building" Strengths may show up!

 Strategic-Thinking Domain  - Green

They thrive when they can spend time with their own thoughts.  It could be: how someone can identify issues that can come up in the future, how they see solutions in data, to thinking out of the box! These are just a few examples of how "Strategic-Thinking" Strengths may show up!
